I am concerned about the lack of publicity that the commission is getting from the press.? The original charter petition committee attributes at least half of our success to the relationship that we established with the press and the support that we received from the press during the petition drive.? Without the press we will never be able to reach the public and their interest in our efforts will depend upon the constant support of the press.? For example,what good is it to have a website that offers information and an opportunity to participate to a population that is unaware that the website exists and how to access it?

I would like to see us offer an invitation to Bill Phelan of the Journal and Pat Martin of the Leader. I know that they have a lot of good ideas about how to best support the efforts of our commission and what would appeal to the people of the county. I believe that their input if crucial to our success.
