All,
I computed these growth estimates for myself, but thought that the rest of the Charter Commission might find them useful or interesting.
The figures for Jefferson County population in 1990, 2000 and 2006 come from the U.S. Census. Based on observed growth between 1990 and 2000 (2.5% annual growth) and estimated growth between 2000 and 2006 (1.5%) I projected the county's population 20 years into the future. The three columns represent various estimates of annual growth at 1.5, 2.0 and 2.5 percent. Percentage growth is compounded over time.
The projections are mine, not from an official source, but they seem somewhat reasonable.
