Per our meeting last evening I am forwarding the information regarding the position of Auditor and the references in the Missouri State Statutes for your information.

This is the information that we have on the position of the Auditor:

Missouri Revised Statutes  Chapter 55  County Auditors reads:

Section 55.010. In all counties of the first class HAVING A CHARTER FORM OF GOVERNMENT, there shall be a county auditor and the county commission shall APPOINT and fix compensation of.

Section 55.050   At the general election and every four years thereafter, a county auditor shall BE ELECTED in each county of the first class NOT HAVING A CHARTER FORM OF GOVERNMENT.

Please note,  all three chartered counties in Missouri appoint the auditor.

I think that when you see these statutes and confirm our directive under state statute, it would be good to put this on the list server so everyone can be advised as to the status of this position.
